Theft

The physical removal of an object without the consent if the owner. Under the law, theft is taking possession of property with no intention of giving it back to its rightful owner. Theft can be classified as larceny, robbery, and burglary, and is punishable with a jail/prison sentence based on the severity and the value of the property that was stolen.
